For singles trying to find a special valentine, their chances may fare better depending on their address. And a move for love may not be so far-fetched: A third of single Americans surveyed say a big determinant for their move will be the number of dateable people living there, Apartment List cites in a new study.
Apartment List compiled its 2019 list of best—and worst—cities for dating, using survey data from more than 9,000 of its single users across the U.S. Which cities offer single renters the best chances at finding love in 2019?
Austin, Texas, ranked number one as the best city for dating, according to this year’s survey. Nearly 40 percent of singles who live in the city reported satisfaction with their dating opportunities. Nashville, Tenn., and San Francisco were number two and three, respectively.
So what qualities do the most datable cities offer? Apartment List found that cities with large populations and strong job markets tended to have the best prospects. Survey respondents in such cities tended to report the strongest dating satisfaction.
The following are the top 10 best cities for dating, according to Apartment List:
- Austin, Texas
- Charlotte, N.C.
- San Francisco
- Minneapolis
- Little Rock, Ark.
